The morning bell rang at Oakwood High, signaling the start of a busy Tuesday. Mr. Abera walked into the classroom, his presence as calm as a quiet lake. 'Alright class, settle down,' he said, clapping his hands gently. He wanted to bring up the topic of the final research paper, a major part of the semester grade. Sarah felt a knot in her stomach, worried about the workload. Mr. Abera noticed her expression and smiled. 'It is not rocket science, Sarah,' he encouraged. 'But you certainly cannot put it off until the last minute if you want to succeed.' He paced the room, explaining that the project required deep investigation and critical thinking.

'I will give you a heads up now,' he added, tapping the chalkboard. 'The rubric is quite detailed, and I expect you to follow every instruction to the letter.' Sarah took out her notebook and started scribbling. She knew she would have to hit the books tonight to get a head start. Beside her, Leo whispered, 'This is gonna be a piece of cake; I finished my outline yesterday.' Mr. Abera overheard him and shook his head with a grin. 'Don't count your chickens before they hatch, Leo. A good start is only half the battle. You still need to find credible sources and write the analysis.'

'Remember,' the teacher continued, addressing the whole class, 'slow and steady wins the race. Take your time with the research rather than rushing through the pages.' Sarah approached his desk during the break. 'Sir, I am feeling a bit under the weather and I am behind on the reading list,' she confessed. Mr. Abera looked at her kindly. 'Don't worry, Sarah. You are bright as a button and I know you can catch up. Just don't burn the midnight oil too often; you need your rest to stay sharp.' He then handed her a supplemental guide to help her organize her thoughts.

As the lesson progressed, the classroom became a hive of activity. Students were brainstorming ideas and discussing potential topics in small groups. Mr. Abera walked around, checking in on everyone. 'Please make sure to turn in your outlines by Friday,' he reminded them. 'I want to see the direction you are taking before you dive into the full draft.' He emphasized the importance of academic integrity and proper citations, warning that shortcuts would only lead to trouble in the long run.

'To wrap up today's lesson, look at the board for the key terms we discussed,' Mr. Abera said as the clock ticked toward the end of the period. He liked to keep his transitions smooth and his instructions clear. Sarah felt much better after their talk. She realized that while the project was a mountain to climb, she had the tools to reach the summit.
