He knew he had to get a move on because his big meeting was scheduled to start in less than thirty minutes. Panic began to set in as Sam dug out every corner of his pockets, eventually finding enough coins to satisfy the machine. The bus began its journey, but it moved at a snail's pace due to unexpected construction on the main road. The minutes were ticking away, and Sam feared he might miss the boat for his career-changing interview. He looked at his watch and realized a change of plans was necessary to arrive on time. At the next intersection, he decided to get off the bus and try his luck with a cab. He stood on the curb and waved his arm frantically until a yellow taxi screeched to a halt. The driver gave a quick nod and said, Jump in, pal. Sam scrambled into the back seat, explaining that he was in a jam and needed to reach the corporate tower across town immediately. The taxi driver was an old pro who seemed to know the ropes of every alleyway in the city. He began to cut through narrow side streets that were not even on the digital map. The city began whizzing by in a blur of neon signs and gray concrete. Sam felt a surge of adrenaline as the driver navigated tight corners with the precision of a surgeon.
